March 2009

One of the best reasons to live in Florida...watching shuttle launches from your front porch!

Adia (The picture to the right is Adia with my best friend's daughters Angelica and Haleigh)

This month started out with Adia's softball opening ceremonies. What a great event and so much more than we expected! There was a DJ there and an MC who announced each team. Then the board spoke to all of us briefly.

Adia has proven yet again that she is a true athlete. She has been pitching at her games(which are twice per week). This past Saturday she pitched the first two innings and then another pitcher pitched the third and fourth innings. However, we were up by only one run with one out and bases fully loaded. So her coach subbed Adia in at the last minute. She pitched perfectly and struck out two batters to win the game. As she was subbed in, I heard the other coach pull his batter aside and say, "remember this pitcher, she is the one that throws strikes". Do I see a scholarship in her future?

Kayli

This was a big month for Kayli! She finally had her braces removed. I think they've been on there for five years. Maybe that's an exaggeration. Her orthodontist was so sweet. They gave her balloons, candy, popcorn, gum and basically a bag of everything she hasn't been able to eat. Of course, Tony has been dipping in the bag, even though Kayli tried to hide it from him.

We are finally signing Kayli up for horseback riding lessons. This is something she has wanted to do for years. She found a great place relatively close to home with reasonable rates. She decided she does not want to do cheerleading next year.

Caleb and Maci:

Caleb scored three of six goals in yesterday's lacrosse game. He was also accepted into AP Choice at Timber Creek High school. He went to orientation and picked his courses for his freshman year. In two weeks he will shadow another AP Choice student for a day to see what the program is all about.

Maci has another dance competition at the end of April. So she will be rehearsing alot this month. This next competition will be held in Jacksonville. We will keep you all informed of the results.

Tony and I have been busy with the kids and their activities. We did attend a mystery dinner party at a friend's house. After our arrival, the lights went out and when they were turned back on, Tony was on the floor. When we arrived he was apparently given a card that said he was beign murdered. It was alot of fun. We may host the next one.

We have our second annual nighttime Easter egg hunt this Saturday night. We hide eggs(outside) and the kids find them with flashlights. This time we invited many neighbors and friends with their children. It should be fun and the kids are looking forward to it. Tony's birthday is Wednesday and we will be off work from April 1st through April 8th for spring break. I'm planning to take him and the kids out to dinner on Wednesday at a suprise restaurant.

Have a great month. Happy 32nd Birthday to my hubby. I leave you with this picture of Tony after he was murdered at the dinner party:
